    A Ward Forum is an opportunity to bring residents, councillors, Birmingham City Council and local partners together to discuss the issues that matter in Kingstanding.

    A Ward Forum is an opportunity to bring residents, councillors, Birmingham City Council and local partners together to discuss the issues that matter in Kingstanding.

    Local policing will also be on the agenda, with representatives from West Midlands Police invited to attend, giving residents the opportunity to raise concerns directly with the local policing team and hear about current priorities and action being taken in the area.

    The meeting is also an opportunity to raise concerns about roads, pavements, parks, rubbish, housing, planning, antisocial behaviour, community safety and other issues affecting Kingstanding.

    This is a meeting for Kingstanding residents, so if there is an issue affecting you, your street or the wider ward, come along and raise it.

Who we are

More than a housing estate — a place with three thousand years of story

An ancient burial mound gave Kingstanding its name. A Roman road ran past it, a saint once lived on one of its hills, and one of Britain’s largest inter-war estates grew across its fields. Kingstanding Together celebrates all of it — and gives neighbours a way to look after what matters, from cleaner streets and green spaces to saving the Odeon.

It has known hard times too. On one night in August 1940, eleven people were killed here in an air raid — we remember them.

The Odeon, from Harry Weedon’s practice, opened on 22 July 1935. It closed as a cinema in 1962 and became a bingo hall — and its fins still rise over the Circle.
